Elena Roch won first place in the women's division of the Race Around Niederösterreich (RAN) in 2020 with a time of 22h 36m. The beautiful 600km, or roughly 373 mile, course took racers through Lower Austria, one of the 9 states of Austria, climbing 6,000 meters or almost 20,000 ft.

Elena had not planned to ride RAN as her first ultra race ever, but after watching the Race Around Austria (RAA), she fell in love with the atmosphere and decided to spontaneously try to simply finish RAN. Episode Transcript

I've been an ultra-endurance athlete since 2011. Since then I've bicycled 3,000 miles across the USA to fight human trafficking, participated in the Race Across America (RAAM), ridden twice non-stop from San Jose to Los Angeles (450 miles) and once out-and-back (900 miles), and completed over 50 double centuries, earning me the title of youngest ultra cyclist ever to be inducted into the California Triple Crown Hall of Fame.
