Elena Roch won first place in the women's division of the Race Around Niederösterreich (RAN) in 2020 with a time of 22h 36m. Elena had not planned to ride RAN as her first ultra race ever, but after watching the Race Around Austria (RAA), she fell in love with the atmosphere and decided to spontaneously try to simply finish RAN. When you get an award named after you, it's a sign you're doing something right. Inspire India's Ultra Award "The Kabir Rachure Ultra Award" was first won by and then named after Indian ultra-cyclist and 2019 RAAM finisher, Kabir Rachure, who has also podiumed in the Ultra Spice Race, the Great Himalayan Ultra Race, and the Deccan Cliffhanger. An Olympic hopeful turned competitive ultra-cyclist, it's Ryan Collins. We'll be seeing a lot more of this 26 year old in the years to come. In just a few short years of ultra cycling, Ryan became the 2019 WUCA 12hr National Champion, World Record Holder (100 km, 200 km, & 6 hrs), and Maryland Cross State Record Holder (N to S). Dex Tooke, who made it 99% of the way in the Race Across America in 2010 but had to make the difficult decision of DNF'ing just shy of the glorious finish line in Annapolis, Maryland.
